How to Stay Active in the Winter Time
Staying motivated and active during the Winter season is a struggle for us all. It can be far too tempting to slip straight into comfy clothes after a long day and sit on the sofa all evening! But it is very important to stay active and well for all of our physical and mental health. That is why we have put together a list of simple ways to keep active throughout the Winter season…
-
Take A Hike
Hiking is an excellent way to explore new surroundings and to also keep your physical and mental well being in a good place. The beauty of hiking is that you can hike across any terrain that you wish. Whether it is along the coast, through valleys or within the woodland, there is always something new to be seen and to explore. Drink Plenty Of Water
It’s just as important to stay hydrated when active in winter as it is in summer, even though you might not feel as thirsty. Drink water before, during and after an outdoor or indoor workout. We would recommend filling up a large insulated drinks bottle to keep you hydrated throughout the day.
-
Have The Correct Equipment For Water Sports
We understand that all outdoor activity lovers will want to carry on doing what they love even when the weather is not at its best.
However, it is especially important that you have the correct equipment for both watersports and changing after you have finished your activity.
We would always highly recommend a high-spec. changing robe to keep you shielded from the elements and help you get warm while you are drying off.
Changing robes can be rather expensive, however, so as a fall-back, we’d suggest looking at towelling robes or towelling ponchos.
While not waterproof, they are ideal for keeping warm while getting dry and will also allow wearers to arrive ‘swim-ready’ at a pool or beach.
-
Utilize Home Workouts
Throughout the nationwide lockdown, many of us were used to having to work out from home rather than heading to the gym.
Why not relive this and opt for exercising at home. There are many approaches you can take, whether it be following Youtube workouts or your own personal freestyling. The main goal is to keep moving and active, and you will not even have to leave your home.

Add Ways To Exercise Into Your Daily Life
If you are just looking to add some more simple exercises to your day-to-day life there are plenty of small yet effective steps that you can take.
For example, brushing your teeth for a total of 4 minutes a day is a great time to cram in some simple exercises, such as squatting, lunging or high knees.
You can even try parking far away in the supermarket car park to raise your step count for the day, or simply make the decision to always take the stairs, rather than head straight to lift.
It’s also important to look after your mental health, so make sure you do mental exercises daily as well as physical ones.
